Call for Assessors & Observers

The CRPE, is presently inviting Registered Professional Engineers who wish to be on the list of Assessors & Observers respectively and on who can assist the CRPE in assessing reports submitted by candidates for registration stage II, carry out interviews or act as observers during interviews for registration stage II.

Applicants should reckon a minimum of 8 years post registration experience to be an Assessor or a minimum of 10 years to be an Observer.

Conditions

1. This call for submission will be open for a period of two (2) weeks as from the date of this post and applications are encouraged across all engineering disciplines and the CRPE expects to have Assessors and Observers of diverse backgrounds.
2. Registered Professional Engineers may postulate for either Assessor or Observer or both.
3. The CRPE will strive to have a training carried out ASAP for those who have been retained and encourages all retained applicants to attend training sessions that the Council may organise for specific assignments.
4. An appropriate fee will be paid by the CRPE on completion of assignment.
5. Applicants are required to download and fill in the attached Excel Sheet, sent by email to all eligible Registered Professional Engineers, by filling in all the required columns and returning same to the CRPE by return email. The returned excel sheet should be renamed thus “CRPEapplication_Firstname_Lastname.xlsx” before sending back to the CRPE for ease of tracking.
6. In case of application in more than one assignment, applicants are required to replicate all the information for each assignment on separate rows. (an example is given on the excel sheet attached to the email sent)
7. The CRPE will try to retain all applicants in its list for future assignments; however, the CRPE does not guarantee that the applicant will be called subsequently for any assignment.
8. In the case of Assessors, they in turn, will be subject to an assessment by the Observer when carrying out interviews.
9. Council Members and Registrar of the Council may also apply but may not be given any assignment during their mandate on the Council.
10. Foreign Nationals, registered with CRPE and on the current roll are also invited to apply.
11. The application, with all relevant details, has been e-mailed to all eligible Engineers. Those who have not received the e-mail are kindly requested to contact the Administrative Secretary by email on admin@crpemauritius.com ASAP.
