Vacancy for the Post of Registrar at Council of Registered Professional Engineers
The Council of Registered Professional Engineers of Mauritius is a regulatory body set up under the RPEC Act of 1966. It regulates the engineering profession and registers professional Engineers for the practice of engineering in Mauritius.
Applications are invited from registered Engineers whose names are on roll who wish to be considered for appointment to the post of “Registrar at Council of Registered Professional Engineers” on a full-time basis.
- DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Overall responsibility of all CRPE activities as per CRPE Act 1966.
- Act as Chief Administrative Officer and answerable to the Council through the Chairman.
- Servicing Council meetings and ensure all Council decisions are attended to and follow-up.
- Organise the processing of all applications for Eligibility clearance and Stage 2 assessments and interviews.
- Ensure all mails regularly replied and guide the Administrative Secretary on complex issues.
- Attend meetings as directed by the Council and/ or Chairman at Government and Tertiary level in connection with engineering activities and new engineering courses respectively.
- Follow up the computerisation of CRPE activities and follow up the online application for Stage 2 and CRPE annual roll renewals.
- Familiarise with the IT backstage tasks in managing/updating the website.
- Be the custodians of the CRPE annual roll and the master register.
- Identifying the members of the Assessment and Interviewing panels and follow up accordingly. Be present after working office hours when there are stage 2 interviews.
- Keep check on all CRPE financial transactions and ensure proper recording. Regular liaison with the auditors and accountants appointed by CRPE.
- Approve all payments and liaise with banks for money transfer and deposits.
- Provide guidance and advice to engineers including and expats for clarification on the process/ route towards registration.
- Regular briefing sessions with the CRPE Chairman.
- QUALIFICATIONS
- The candidate must be registered with the Council and have a minimum of 15 years’ post registration experience relevant to the Engineering Profession with adequate experience in a Managerial position.
- The candidate must be a person of high integrity who promotes merit.
- The candidate must be a person who enjoys excellent physical and mental health
- The candidate must be a person with strong administrative, managerial and leadership abilities
- The candidate must be focused and innovative
- The candidate must be highly computer literate / proficient.
Note: Professional qualifications / experience in Accounting, Law, Business Administration and Management will be an added advantage.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
- The appointment is for a period of three (3) years on in the first instance.
- Salary will commensurate with qualifications, experience and is negotiable.
- The Registrar will operate from a full fledge modern office located at Suite 308, 3rd Floor, NG Tower.
